What is your favorite thing on the menu?

Hmmm... well I really love our quesadillas because they are a classic but not what people are traditionally used to. I also really love our Carne y Chorizo sandwich. I always tell Guests our sandwiches are some of the best things on the menu.

And your favorite thing to drink?

Definitely a Skinny Margarita with no salt OR when we have it, a Skinny made with Frida Kahlo Silver Tequila.

What are some of your secret talents or hobbies?

I enjoy anything where I am outdoors. I love hiking and being out on the water where I can canoe or jet ski. My friends and I like to go camping in North Georgia near Helen.

I also like to go to weekend festivals!

As for my secret talents, I would say organization, detail-orientation, and management! Oh! I also have this weird ability to find four-leaf clovers.I once found 18 in one day- the trick is not to actually look for them!

When are you happiest?

Well, I'm really happy here at PURE. This place is our home and my teammates are all part of one big family. It makes me happy that we want our Guests to feel  this way- like they are all part of the family- when they come in.

I'm also very happy when I'm outdoors. Being cooped-up makes me stir-crazy!

If money wasn't a factor, how would you spend your perfect day?

I would take off for 2-3 years and go travel. I want to see how other people live and part of my journey would be going to  help the less fortunate.  I'm not sure if I'd want to go with someone else or not- I feel like I could travel either way, alone or with a good friend. If I had to choose someone to go, I would take along a long-time friend who I've since fallen-out with. I always envisioned her as the person I'd travel with!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I would go somewhere with a lot of mountains and some water, though I'm not exactly sure what place specifically. I would also go to Europe to see everything there- the people, the castles, the architecture, the greenery, the wine, the art...

What is a goal you are currently working towards?

I want to go back to school for Massage Therapy soon. I feel like I have a very good energy and can project that onto other people. I believe there is a really powerful connection to touch that can be very meaningful for many people. I also recently just signed a lease nearby for my first apartment- so that was a big step for me!

If you could do anything and weren't working at PURE, what would you do and why?

I would be an interior designer and flip houses. I would describe my personal style as a mix of cozy, clean, modern, bohemian- if that makes sense! However, I would decorate houses for my clients in a very classy and clean style with lots of gray, navy, and sand tones.

If you had to start your own business, what would you do?

I'm not really sure. I've thought about maybe opening a restaurant but I know that's I lot of hard work and I want to be able to travel. However, entrepreneurship runs in my family so I wouldn't be surprised if one day I started my own business!

Do you have any quotes or mantras you live by?

  • "Breathe"
  • "Live in the Now"
  • "Always be Nice"

How did you first hear about PURE?

When I moved here, I started working at Bartaco down the street from Pure Inman Park. However, it wasn't really my place so I started looking for a new job. My sister lived in Brookhaven so I applied for a position here. I worked as a hostess for about 1.5 years and worked my way up to serving!

What is your proudest moment at PURE?

It always makes me proud when I can engage with a Guest in memorable way. Recently, I was serving some Guests who came and sat on the rooftop. One of the women always orders tacos but was considering trying something new. She took my recommendation for Camarones a la Parilla and thanked me  because she enjoyed it so much. She said it was such a surprise to get great service now-and-days.

Anytime Guests come in and remember my name it makes me feel like I'm doing an awesome job. Our management team also makes me feel like there's a reason I'm apart of the PURE team and makes me feel like I should be here.

And your proudest moment in life?

Hmm... probably where I am today. It was a really big move for me to leave and move to Atlanta after High School. There's a lot of people that talk about making that kind of move who don't end up doing it.

What is something most people don't know about you?

  • I have a very emotional, bleeding heart.
  • The server name on my checks says Penny Lane because I come in with my hair all big and sunglasses on.
  • I'm not actually a blonde!

If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life, what would you eat?

Easy-potatoes. You can cook them so many ways so I would never get bored!

We're so thankful to have Emily on our Team! Thanks for all your hard work and dedication!
